Mumbai Chronicles

Stories from the streets

Every dish carries a postcard from one of Mumbai's legendary neighbourhoods memories served on a plate.

Vada Pav
The Vada Pav that changed everything
Ashok Vaidya invented the Mumbai burger outside Dadar station. A potato fritter, two chutneys, one pav and a revolution.
Bhel Puri
Bhel Puri at sunset
The waves, salt air, and a paper plate of crunchy bhel. Mumbai in a bite.
Misal Pav
The fire of Misal Pav
Kolhapur's fiercest export. If the tears don't come, it's not hot enough.

Vada Pav
Vada Pav
Born outside Dadar station in 1971, this humble potato fritter became Mumbai's defining snack — cheap, fast, and impossible to resist.
Dadar, Mumbai
Pav Bhaji
Pav Bhaji
Created in the 1850s for textile mill workers who needed a quick, hearty meal. The buttery mash became Mumbai's comfort food for generations.
Tardeo, Mumbai
Pani Puri
Pani Puri
The sphere of joy. One hollow ball, one pour of spiced water, and time freezes. Mumbai renamed it and made it its own.
Across Mumbai
Cutting Chai
Cutting Chai
Half a glass of strong, sweet masala tea. The name comes from "cut" — meaning half. Every conversation in Mumbai begins with one.
Every street corner
Misal Pav
Misal Pav
A fiery Maharashtrian curry that moved to Mumbai and conquered breakfast. The heat level is a matter of pride. We serve Kolhapuri-strength.

Our story

Born from a shared dream

Mumbai N Co
Mumbai N Co
Indian Street Food · Est. 2018 · Cheltenham

Two friends who met over shared plates of Vada Pav and an unwavering belief that Indian food deserved better than the ordinary — that is how Mumbai N Co began.

Both trained in hotel management and spent years working across hospitality in India and the United Kingdom. They arrived at the same conviction: Cheltenham needed a restaurant that did not compromise — one that let the spices speak, made everything fresh to order, and sourced ingredients directly from the same places they had grown up eating.

In 2019, the doors of 337 High Street opened — and Cheltenham tasted authentic Mumbai street food for the very first time. Vada Pav, Pav Bhaji, Bhel Puri, Misal Pav — dishes from the streets of Bombay, made with the same care and the same ingredients as back home.

Our award-winning Railway Goat Curry has earned an exceptional reputation. Every dish is made to order — no batch cooking, no shortcuts. Mumbai N Co has become a destination for local people and visitors to the Cotswolds alike.
